Zion Hill is the oldest African Methodist Episcopal Zion church in Concord, North Carolina. Zion Hill A.M.E. Zion Church began as Zion Chapel in 1859 and has been active in the community ever since. Our church birthed Zion Wesley Institute, which is now known as Livingstone College located in Salisbury, it was started in 1879 to provide educational opportunities for church members. We also own the oldest African American cemetery in Cabarrus County.
Our church stands as a beacon of hope in Concord. We are a place of acceptance, peace and joy to all who are moved to join us. Our church family is richly diverse, with people of different ages and backgrounds coming together to worship and serve together.
